GLAAD

Media inclusion monitor

GLAAD is an American advocacy organization monitoring media representation of LGBTQ people.

Originally an acronym for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, founded in 1985, the organization now goes by the initialism alone to reflect its broader scope.

GLAAD tracks portrayals in film, television, and news, and issues annual reports on LGBTQ visibility in entertainment.
