Fremont culture
Pre-Puebloan Utah civilization
Fremont culture refers to a prehistoric people who inhabited parts of present-day Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and Idaho from roughly 400 to 1300 CE.
Distinguished from their Ancestral Puebloan neighbors by distinctive rock art, clay figurines, and a mixed economy of farming and foraging, the Fremont left behind pithouses and granaries before mysteriously disappearing from the archaeological record.
