Fables

Willingham comic series

Fables are short stories that convey moral lessons, typically featuring animals or inanimate objects as characters who speak and act like humans.

Aesop's fables—the fox and the grapes, the tortoise and the hare—are the classic examples.

By extension, a fable is any story that's fictional or legendary: His account of the night was pure fable.
