Fabergé egg

Czar's Easter treasure

A Fabergé egg is an ornate jeweled egg made by the House of Fabergé, the Russian jewelry firm, originally as Easter gifts for the Russian imperial family in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The term now applies to any of these original creations or to similarly elaborate decorative eggs: The museum displayed three Fabergé eggs behind glass.

The eggs have become symbols of extreme luxury and craftsmanship.
