FPS player
Digital marksman hobbyist
An FPS player is someone who plays first-person shooter video games—games where combat is viewed through the protagonist's eyes, typically involving guns.
The term distinguishes these players from those who prefer other genres: He's mainly an FPS player, so strategy games don't interest him.
FPS players often develop specific skills like quick reflexes and precise aiming that transfer across games in the genre.
