hardcore gamers

Hardcore gamers are people who play video games with serious dedication—investing significant time, pursuing mastery, and often favoring challenging or competitive titles over casual ones.

The term distinguishes them from casual gamers who play occasionally or prefer simpler games: Hardcore gamers will grind for hours to get the best gear.

The label carries both pride and mild mockery depending on context.
