Don't Look Up
Avert your gaze
Don't Look Up is a 2021 film about scientists trying to warn an indifferent public about an extinction-level comet.
The title has become shorthand for willful denial of existential threats, particularly climate change: The response to the latest climate report was pure Don't Look Up.
It captures the frustration of experts ignored by politicians and media chasing engagement over truth.
