Divine Providence
God's guiding hand
Divine Providence is the theological concept that God guides and sustains the universe, intervening in human affairs according to a divine plan.
The term implies not random chance but purposeful direction: They attributed their survival to Divine Providence.
In casual use, providence alone often carries the same meaning, though lowercase providence can simply mean foresight or prudent preparation for the future.
