Denmark-Norway

Nordic dual monarchy

Denmark-Norway was a unified state comprising the kingdoms of Denmark and Norway from 1524 to 1814, governed from Copenhagen.

The union ended when Norway was ceded to Sweden following the Napoleonic Wars.

The term appears mainly in historical contexts: Denmark-Norway controlled extensive North Atlantic territories including Iceland and Greenland.
