Canadian whiskey is whiskey produced in Canada, typically lighter and smoother than American bourbon or Scotch.
It's often blended from multiple grain spirits, with rye historically prominent enough that "Canadian" and "rye" became interchangeable in North American bars: I'll have a Canadian and ginger.
Also spelled Canadian whisky, following the Scottish convention.
