Asterix

Asterix is a fictional Gaulish warrior, the protagonist of a French comic book series created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo in 1959.

The diminutive, mustachioed hero and his large friend Obelix resist Roman occupation in their small village, aided by a magic potion that grants superhuman strength.

The series is beloved in Europe and has spawned films, theme parks, and merchandise.

The name plays on asterisk, fitting the series' tradition of names ending in -ix.
