The Smurfs
The Smurfs are a fictional race of small blue humanoid creatures created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo in 1958.
They live in mushroom-shaped houses in a forest village, speak by substituting "smurf" for various words, and are led by the red-capped Papa Smurf.
The franchise spans comics, an animated television series, and films.
Individual Smurfs are named for their dominant trait: Brainy Smurf, Grumpy Smurf, Smurfette.
