Abidjan

Lagoon-side African city

Abidjan is the largest city and economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), a country in West Africa.

Though the official capital moved to Yamoussoukro in 1983, Abidjan remains the seat of most government functions and the country's commercial hub.

The city sits on a lagoon along the Atlantic coast: She flew into Abidjan for the trade conference.
