A team
First-string players
A team is the group of players representing one side in a competitive game or sport: The home team took the field.
In contexts where multiple teams exist, the A team is the top squad—the starting lineup of best players, as opposed to a B team or reserves.
By extension, A team describes any group of top performers assembled for an important task: They sent in the A team to close the deal.
