A Doll's House
Nora's shocking exit
A Doll's House is an 1879 play by Henrik Ibsen in which a wife, Nora, leaves her husband and children after realizing her marriage has reduced her to a decorative role.
The play scandalized audiences and became a landmark of modern drama, still invoked in discussions of gender roles and women's autonomy: She had her own A Doll's House moment when she walked out.
