AP credits

High school head-start

AP credits are academic credits earned by scoring well on Advanced Placement exams in high school, allowing students to skip introductory college courses or graduate early.

The College Board administers the tests, and acceptance policies vary by institution: She came in with enough AP credits to start as a sophomore.

The system rewards ambitious high schoolers but critics argue it creates pressure and uneven access.
