corequisite

Paired course mandate

A corequisite is a course or requirement that must be taken at the same time as another: Organic chemistry lab is a corequisite for the lecture course.

Unlike prerequisites, which must be completed beforehand, corequisites are meant to be pursued simultaneously, typically because each reinforces the other.
