3D films
Glasses-required cinema viewing
3D films are movies that create an illusion of depth, making images appear to extend toward or away from the viewer.
Audiences typically wear special glasses to perceive the effect.
The technology has gone through several waves of popularity, from 1950s novelties to modern blockbusters: The kids wanted to see the 3D version.
Also called three-dimensional films or stereoscopic films.
