10th graders

Second-year students

10th graders are students in the tenth grade of American secondary education, typically aged 15 to 16, also called sophomores.

This is the second year of high school in the United States, following freshman year.

The 10th graders are taking their first AP classes this semester.

The term is less common outside North American educational systems, where equivalent students might be identified by age or form number.
