black beauty
Dark-coated horse
Black beauty is slang for a black capsule containing amphetamines, popular as a street drug from the 1960s through the 1980s: He popped a black beauty before the all-night drive.
The term also refers to anything admired for its dark coloring—a horse, a car, or a person. (Capitalized *Black Beauty* is the 1877 Anna Sewell novel about a horse.)
