word break
Where lines split
A word break is a point where a word can be divided, typically at the end of a line of text.
In typography and word processing, word breaks follow conventions about where hyphens may split words—usually between syllables: The software handles word breaks automatically.
In computing, word break also refers to the boundary between any two words, relevant for text selection and search functions.
