witness signature
Observer's written name
A witness signature is a signature from someone who observes another person signing a document, confirming the signer's identity and that they signed voluntarily.
Many legal documents—wills, contracts, deeds—require witness signatures to be valid.
The witness attests to what they saw, not to the document's contents: Two witness signatures are required for the will to be valid.
