wherewithal
Funds to proceed
Wherewithal is the means or resources needed to accomplish something, usually money: She lacked the wherewithal to start her own business.
The word sounds slightly formal or old-fashioned but remains common in discussions of financial capacity: Do they have the wherewithal to complete the project?
