wetting oneself

Losing bladder control

Wetting oneself is losing control of one's bladder, urinating in one's clothes.

Children wet themselves before they're fully toilet-trained.

Adults may wet themselves from fear, illness, intoxication, or lack of access to a toilet: I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself.

The phrase often appears hyperbolically to describe extreme reactions.
