waste products
Byproducts requiring disposal
Waste products are materials left over after a process has extracted what is useful or valuable.
The term appears most often in biological contexts, where it refers to substances the body produces but cannot use—carbon dioxide exhaled from the lungs, urea filtered by the kidneys, feces eliminated from the digestive tract.
Industrial and manufacturing processes also generate waste products, which may require disposal or can sometimes be repurposed.
The factory's waste products were contaminating the local water supply.
