wartime alliances
Temporary military unions
Wartime alliances are agreements between nations to cooperate militarily during armed conflict.
Countries that might otherwise be rivals unite against a common enemy: The wartime alliance between the United States and Soviet Union dissolved into Cold War rivalry.
Such partnerships are often temporary and strategic rather than ideological, dissolving or reversing when the war ends.
