wall jack
Mounted connection port
A wall jack is a mounted outlet that provides a connection point for cables—typically telephone, ethernet, or coaxial.
The jack is recessed into the wall with a faceplate flush to the surface, allowing cables to plug in without exposed wiring: I connected the modem to the wall jack.
Also called a wall plate or wall outlet.
