votary
Dedicated religious adherent
A votary is someone bound by religious vows, especially a monk or nun.
More broadly, it describes a devoted follower or enthusiast of any cause, practice, or pursuit: votaries of classical music, a votary of the free market.
The word carries a sense of fervent, almost religious dedication.
