unticking
Clearing a checkbox
Unticking is removing a tick mark from a checkbox or option, the opposite of ticking.
In software interfaces, unticking deselects an option: Untick the box if you don't want to receive promotional emails.
The term is more common in British English; Americans typically say unchecking.
