unscramble
Restore to order
To unscramble is to restore something jumbled or disordered to its original arrangement.
You unscramble eggs by—well, you can't, which is why the word usually applies to things that can be sorted out: unscramble the letters to form a word, unscramble a coded message.
A cable box unscrambles encrypted signals.
Figuratively, to unscramble is to make sense of confusion: It took hours to unscramble what had happened.
