unprovable
Cannot be confirmed
Unprovable describes something that cannot be demonstrated to be true or false.
In logic and mathematics, certain statements are unprovable within a given system—they may be true but no proof exists: Gödel showed that some mathematical truths are unprovable.
More loosely, unprovable claims lack sufficient evidence: The accusation was unprovable without witnesses.
