proven

Established beyond doubt

Proven is the past participle of prove, used interchangeably with proved in most contexts: a proven track record, proven guilty.

Some style guides prefer proved after has or have (has proved effective) and proven as an adjective before nouns (a proven method), but both forms appear freely in either position.

Proven carries a slightly more emphatic or established quality: proven results suggests reliability beyond mere demonstration.
