unlimited plans
No-cap service packages
Unlimited plans are service packages—typically for mobile phones or internet—advertised as having no caps on usage.
In practice, most unlimited plans include restrictions: throttled speeds after heavy use, deprioritization during network congestion, or limits on hotspot data.
I switched to an unlimited plan so I'd stop worrying about overages.
The term has become somewhat ironic, as the fine print usually reveals what "unlimited" doesn't include.
