universal language
Communication without borders
A universal language is a system of communication theoretically understood by all people, regardless of native tongue.
The term sometimes refers to proposed constructed languages like Esperanto, designed to bridge linguistic divides.
More often it describes symbolic systems—mathematics, music, or gesture—said to transcend verbal language: Mathematics is the universal language of science.
The concept is more aspirational than practical; no language has achieved true universality.
