undersea tunnel
Underwater transit corridor
An undersea tunnel is a passage constructed beneath a body of water, typically for rail or vehicle traffic.
The Channel Tunnel connecting England and France is the most famous example.
Such tunnels may run through bedrock below the seabed or be laid in trenches on the ocean floor: The proposed undersea tunnel would link the two islands.
