underground station
Tube platform entrance
An underground station is a stop on a subway or metro system—a place where passengers board and exit trains that run beneath city streets.
The term is primarily British, corresponding to American "subway station": We'll meet at the underground station nearest the museum.
In London, these are also called tube stations.
