ultracold
Extremely low temperature
Ultracold describes temperatures approaching absolute zero, typically in physics contexts where atoms or gases are cooled to billionths of a degree above −273.15°C: ultracold atoms, ultracold quantum gases.
At these extremes, matter exhibits unusual quantum behavior impossible to observe at ordinary temperatures.
