tree-kangaroo

Canopy-dwelling hopping mammal

A tree-kangaroo is a marsupial of the genus Dendrolagus, native to the rainforests of New Guinea and northeastern Australia.

Unlike their ground-dwelling relatives, tree-kangaroos have adapted to arboreal life with shorter legs, stronger forelimbs, and curved claws for gripping branches.

They move awkwardly on the ground but are agile climbers.
