trainability

Aptitude for instruction

Trainability is how readily someone or something can be trained.

The term appears most often in discussions of dogs and other animals: Border collies are known for their high trainability.

It also applies to employees, athletes, or anyone whose capacity to learn and improve is being assessed: We look for trainability over existing skills.
