trail guide
Hiking group leader
A trail guide is a person who leads groups through wilderness areas, parks, or backcountry terrain, providing navigation, safety oversight, and often interpretation of natural or historical features along the route.
Trail guides work in settings ranging from day hikes to multiday expeditions, and the term applies equally to those leading horseback rides, river trips, or mountain treks.
The term can also refer to a printed or digital resource describing a trail's route, difficulty, and points of interest: I picked up a trail guide at the visitor center.
