touch-type

Keyboard without looking

Touch-type means to type without looking at the keyboard, using muscle memory to locate keys by feel.

The fingers rest on the home row and reach for other keys from fixed positions.

Someone who touch-types can watch the screen or document while typing: She learned to touch-type in high school and now does 80 words per minute.
