toggle key
On-off keyboard button
A toggle key is a keyboard key that switches a function on or off with each press.
Caps Lock is the classic example—press once to enable uppercase letters, press again to disable.
Num Lock and Scroll Lock work the same way.
The key acts as its own on/off switch, alternating between two states.
