tens unit
Electrical pain relief
A tens unit is a small electronic device that delivers mild electrical impulses through electrode pads placed on the skin, used for pain relief.
TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.
The theory is that the electrical signals interrupt or reduce pain signals traveling to the brain: My physical therapist recommended a tens unit for my back pain.
