technology gap
Innovation access inequality
A technology gap is the disparity between groups in their access to, adoption of, or proficiency with technology.
The term often describes differences between developed and developing nations, or between generations: The technology gap between rural and urban schools continues to widen.
It can also refer to the lag between when technology becomes available and when it's widely implemented: There's a technology gap between what researchers know and what doctors practice.
