tech tree
Research progression diagram
A tech tree is a diagram in strategy games showing the progression of available technologies, where unlocking one advancement opens paths to others.
Players must research earlier technologies before accessing more powerful ones: You need to go up the tech tree to unlock nuclear weapons.
The structure resembles a branching tree, with basic discoveries at the root and advanced ones at the tips.
