Pekoe storage box
A tea chest is a large, lightweight wooden crate lined with metal foil, originally designed for shipping tea from Asia.
The standard size and sturdy construction made tea chests popular for packing household goods during moves: We packed our books in tea chests.
In music, a tea chest bass is a simple instrument made from an upturned tea chest with a string attached to a broomstick.
