tagging up
Post-catch base contact
Tagging up is a baserunning play in baseball where a runner on base waits for a fly ball to be caught before advancing to the next base.
The runner must touch their current base at or after the moment of the catch, then can attempt to advance before the fielder throws them out: He tagged up from third and scored on the sacrifice fly.
The risk-reward calculation depends on the outfielder's arm strength and the runner's speed.
