swim buoy
Swimmer's visible float
A swim buoy is a brightly colored inflatable device towed behind an open-water swimmer, attached by a leash to the waist.
It serves dual purposes: making the swimmer visible to boats and other watercraft, and providing emergency flotation if needed.
Many designs include a dry compartment for storing keys or a phone.
I always bring my swim buoy when swimming in the lake.
