swarmers
Bees leaving hive
Swarmers are winged reproductive ants or termites that emerge in large numbers during mating season, often after rain.
Homeowners dread finding swarmers indoors—they signal a nearby colony.
In gaming and military contexts, swarmers are units or creatures that attack in overwhelming numbers rather than with individual strength: The swarmers overwhelmed our defenses before we could react.
