swansdown
Luxurious bird fluff
Swansdown is the soft, fine underfeathers of a swan, prized for its exceptional softness.
By extension, swansdown refers to any soft, fluffy material—a thick cotton flannel with a napped surface, or a soft fabric used for baby clothes and powder puffs: a swansdown blanket, she dabbed powder with a swansdown puff.
Also spelled swan's-down.
